RAISING KIDS WHO RISE

Welcome!

I’m Yina, a Chinese-American mom of twins trying to raise curious, confident kids in a world that moves way too fast.

Phoenix Sparks grew out of the stories and small moments I created to help my own children stay curious, try bravely, and honor the many cultures that shape who they’re becoming. That’s the heart of our growth-mindset journey: learning, rising, and trying again.

I hope this becomes a place where your family finds inspiration, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Thank you for joining me. One spark at a time!

Yina

New Sparks Coming to Life

A look at the stories and creative worlds I’m building. These projects are designed to spark imagination, courage, and connection.

  • A modern, smart-brevity book introducing kids to ten women of Chinese descent who shaped the last century.

Each story is quick to read, easy to understand, and paired with reflection questions that help kids connect the lessons to their own world.

Together, these stories also offer a gentle look at the evolution of China over the past 100 years through the lives of the women who lived it, changed it, and carried its culture forward.

Perfect for parents who want meaningful role models, multicultural storytelling, and thoughtful conversations without long chapters or heavy history books.

  • A short-story collection exploring growth-mindset themes for girls ages 10–12.

Each story offers a quick, relatable glimpse into the challenges and small victories of growing up, sparking curiosity, confidence, and conversation.

Perfect for parents who want thoughtful, easy-to-read stories that open up conversations about confidence, identity, and the quiet courage of growing up.
